Weekly class – Tuesdays (from 11th January 2022) 4.30pm – 5.30pm
Venue – Craigsfarm Community Hub, Maree Walk, Livingston, EH54 5BP
Everyone has the capacity to be mindful, including (especially!) children.
Children can often feel stressed and anxious, especially during times of change or upheaval.
In our fun and friendly class, your child will learn easy ways to let go of anxiety, worry or stress. They will also learn how to create their own unique ‘mindfulness toolbox’ they can access at any time, when they’re feeling anxious, angry, or to simply help them relax.
Each class has enriching mindful activities and bespoke meditations e.g.
- Sound – mindful listening helps develop connection, kindness and understanding towards themselves and others.
- Movement – to help with strength, balance and body awareness.
- Colour – communicating thoughts and feelings more creatively.
- The breath – mindful breathing is a powerful tool when children feel anxious, worried or overwhelmed, helping calm the nervous system, improving focus and concentration, and aid learning.
- Guided visualization – helps the mind and body relax, and create positive thoughts and feelings.
- Develop a self-care routine – through positive affirmations, kindness, and gratitude.
